THE STOREHOUSE
Pitlochry’s community food bank is managed by volunteers from Pitlochry Baptist Church and the wider community. It aims to help those who are encountering financial difficulty and who do not have enough to buy all the food they require. Food packages are given out without judgement and with the utmost respect and care. Pitlochry Baptist Church is committed to serving our community and does so freely through the Storehouse.

How you can support us?
We are very grateful for the generosity people have shown, particularly at this time, to ensure we can continue to serve our community through this ministry.
The Storehouse operates completely on the donations of the local community. We are blessed to have good partnerships with local supermarkets and other businesses who support at different times.
Donations of Food
We will accept donations of any non-perishable food items, toiletries & cleaning products. Below is a list of items we regularly run low on:
tuna, hot dogs, meat, noodles, rice, pasta, cereal, soup, tins of potatoes and vegetables, tea bags, UHT milk, juice, tins of pudding and fruit, biscuits, jam, toilet rolls, soap, shower gel, washing-up liquid, toothpaste, shampoo, washing powder, cleaning products, nappies, wet wipes, nappy sacks, baby food.
Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the Storehouse basket at the Coop in Pitlochry. Or, contact us directly to drop off food at the Storehouse.
Supporting Financially
The Storehouse supports many individuals and families because they have no other means of putting food on the table. People from all walks of life are using the Storehouse and as a church we want to do all we can to support those in need. £15.00 can buy a large bag of food and a hygiene bag for one of our service users and it is now really simple to donate to the Storehouse. Every single penny you donate will be used to ensure the Storehouse continues to support those experiencing food poverty in our community.
Please feel free to give as much or as little as you can manage:

Importance of Volunteers
We recognise that volunteers play a vital role within the Storehouse and that their contribution enables us to deliver our services. We want to ensure that there are good working relationships with volunteers, and that volunteers are well supported.
Our role is to encourage voluntary activity, and therefore, we want to take a leading role in the involvement of individuals from the community as volunteers to help deliver our services,
We need people from all walks of life, who can bring their different skills and experiences to the Storehouse,
Volunteers bring a different perspective, often reflecting the views of the local community,
Volunteers help to extend the services we are able to offer.
Who is a volunteer?
A volunteer is any individual who undertakes unpaid activities on behalf of the Storehouse of their own free choice. Work experience placements are different to volunteering and further guidance should be sought from the Storehouse co-ordinator.
Volunteers may be involved in short or long-term activities or as a one off. Typical activities may include:
Supporting fundraising or awareness raising events,
Involvement in direct delivery of our services and projects,
Uplifting donations and making deliveries.
We love our volunteers?
We honestly couldn't do what we do without the wonderful volunteers we have. They give of their time and energy willingly, they are committed, generous, kind, selfless and so much more. We want everyone who volunteers with us to know how valued and appreciated they are.
If you would like to volunteer at the Storehouse, please contact Colin at thestorehouse@pbcweb.net
