Small Groups

While Sunday was traditionally a great way to meet new people, it is in the Small Groups that you can really get to know someone within our church family. Being part of one of our groups allows you to learn, share and support each other through the ups and the downs of life. We have a wide variety of groups that meet throughout the week, so please drop us a line through the Get In Touch page if you would like to find out more.

While numbers are restricted by coronavirus regulations some groups continue to meet online.

Boiler Room Prayer
Apr

7:00 am07:00

Boiler Room Prayer

Prayer is an essential part of our lives as individuals and as a church. It’s the place where we experience and express intimacy with God. It is also the place from which we derive power for life and ministry. 19th century preacher Charles Spurgeon referred to the prayer gatherings of his church as the "boiler room." He believed that prayer was the spiritual power behind the effectiveness of ministry. At Pitlochry Baptist Church, we long to see God come in power. Prayer is vital to the life of our church family and community, and we invite you to join us at Boiler Room Prayer any Wednesday from 7am on zoom. Get In Touch with us for the Zoom link.

Friday Night Youth Club

Engaging young people (primary 4 - secondary 2) with all sorts of fun and mayhem… every single week! With all sorts of games, times to learn from the bible, and lots of special events. We want our young people to be involved in the community and look out for one another. We want to be a place where our young people can ask big questions and get answers. We want to look after our young people and give them a safe place to have fun and good friendships. We’re looking forward to meeting them all: although we’re determined that they won’t to beat us at our own games (there will be a scoreboard).

Passover Seder Meal

Passover Seder Meal

You are invited to attend a Passover Seder meal. The Seder meal is the traditional Passover meal to remember the suffering and persecution of the Jewish people in Egypt and the miraculous way that God brought them out of slavery. This experience can help us prepare for Easter by deepening our understanding of Passover and the way that it set the stage for Jesus – the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.

For more details, or to book a seat at the table, get in contact with us through the Get In Touch page.

Church BBQ in the Park

We’re hanging out in the community with the church family. This year we’re sparking up the barbeque at the Recreation Ground in Pitlochry. As always, there will be plenty food for all, and maybe some ultimate frizbee or rounders. As we live in Scotland, it’s weather permitting. So, if it’s raining, we’ll get the barbeque going in our church carpark and have some food in the church building after our Worship Gathering.

If you plan to join us for our Worship Gathering on Sunday 29 May, please stay around for some lunch afterwards. We’re conscious that as a church family we’ve been separated for too long because of the lockdown and Covid restrictions, and so getting together for a bit of lunch gives us the opportunity to spend time together and get to know folk again. And we’d love for you to join us. There will be plenty of food to go around.

Etape Sunday
May

Etape Sunday

The Etape Road Race is a cycling event that has attracted more than 70,000 participants to Pitlochry since its inception in 2007. It is hoped that up to 5,000 cyclists will take part this year. This closed road race starts in Pitlochry, winds its way around Highland Perthshire, before finishing back in Pitlochry right outside our church building on Atholl Road.

During the event, the road outside our building is blocked off to motorists. Gathering for worship in our usual way is therefore not possible. So, a number of our church family will gather for worship by serving the Etape community with refreshments and snacks from a gazebo at the entrance to our church car park. If you plan to be at the Etape, drop by and say hello. We’ll be cheering all the rikers over the finish line and would love to meet you. This is how we choose to worship Jesus Christ together on Etape Sunday.

Please Note: During the Etape Road Race the road outside the church building is closed to vehicles. Pitlochry’s main car park on Atholl Road is also commandeered for this event.

15/1 Prayer

7:00 am07:00

15/1 Prayer

Every Wednesday, we set aside 15 hours as a church family to pray; taking at least an hour each to seek God. Yes, of course, we pray at other times. But we’re excited to seek the Lord in this way. We’re compelled by God’s invite to draw up next to him that we find throughout the Bible.

Please, join us, wherever you are. Encourage us by signing up on our PRAYER page.
