It's no good doing stuff simply for the sake of doing stuff. So, we try not to create endless energy hungry programmes that need maintaining if they don't serve the purpose of growing us as disciples of Jesus and help us with the task of sharing that life with the wider community. As a family church we get up to a lot of things together, but we also organise regular and one off events which are for specific groups. Below is a list of most of these.
Services are held at the Balhousie Care Home in Pitlochry on the 1st Sunday of the month. For the majority of the residents of Balhousie this is the only time they are able to meet with other Christians to worship, and so we feel that the Balhousie service is a lifeline for many. The service starts at 3pm and is followed by refreshments.
If you're interested in kicking a ball about for an hour, and you're not worried that your ball-skills are more like a 3-point-turn in a Sherman tank than a 'Beckenbauer turn' just like Der Kaiser, then look no further. A whole bunch of guys from Pitlochry get together every Tuesday night at the Atholl Leisure Centre to play a friendly, yet competitive game of 5's starting at 7:30 pm. If you'd like to join the pool of players drop us a message through the Get In Touch Page and we'll get back to you.
HeartlandFM is the longest running community radio station in the UK. Based in Pitlochry, it broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 97.5 and all over the world on heartlandfm.co.uk
HEART AND SOUL - Sundays 8-9am.
Regular presenters Howard Simpson and David Wilkie bring a topical mix of music, chat, news, community focus and issues, plus interviews.
SOUNDS INSPIRATIONAL - Tuesdays 7-8pm (repeated Thursdays 10pm).
Regular hosts from PBC bring an hour of spiritual and Christian music, with a wee bit of chat thrown in as well.
Our Ladies's Non-Curry Night is the opportunity for all the women in the church family to get together over a nice meal (rarely a curry!). It's a great time to invite friends and family, and get to know each other better (usually with much hilarity).
The Ladies Non-Curry Night takes place every few months and will be advertised through our church calendar page as well as on our Facebook page.
If you're a man and love a good curry, then you'll fit right in. Whether you're new to PBC, never been before, or even been coming along all your life, this is the night for you.
Every few months we get the Curry Night going and wonder why we don't make it happen more often. It's a great night when we do though. The Prince of India in Pitlochry offers some great food and fantastic service. We love it there!
If you want to come along either let Martin Deeks know when you see him or drop us a message through the Get In Touch page.
WA (Welcome All) Soup Lunch takes place every Friday in the Atholl Centre which is located at the back of our church building. We have about 40 people sitting down to lunch together starting at 12:00.
Some of those who regularly attend are part of our church family but many others are neighbours and friends from the local community. You are assured of a warm welcome if you are able to come.
Every Friday from October through to April. We can arrange transport if you need it. Simply speak to one of the team at WA or drop us a message through the Get In Touch page.
Why stay at home on your own, when you can come and make new friends and have a cup of tea and a chat. There is always something different happening each month at Friendship Hour.
At the Aldour Halls from 2:15pm. April - December on the 4th Monday of the month.
A number of men in our church family regularly meet during the week, and early in the morning, to encourage one another as followers of Jesus. To spread the love a little, and dispel the myth that to meet like this is too hard, especially on a work day, we organised a few get-togethers which we’ve simply called ‘The Guys’ Breakfast Club.’ Silly name for a silly time of day. All you guys are welcome. Bacon rolls will be served!
Once a month… early in the morning. Check out the Calendar page for the next get-together.
